Also, ipconfig and other command line commands report the correct default gateway address. It seems to be only Edge and the other Modern apps that came with Windows 10 that cannot find the Internet connection. On my windows 8 laptop I haven't had any problems for months but now my apps on the start screen won't connect to the internet, but I can still connect to the internet when I'm in desktop.
