DD-WRT does not support all router models so, be sure to choose a router that has a current build available. A build is a version of the firmware packaged for a specific router's hardware. You can find this by searching the DD-WRT Database . Download DD-WRT Hotspot Wi-Fi firmware. Select the model of your Wireless Router or your Access Point and download the "Mini (or factory)" and "Full" firmwares. Before following this guide, you will need to install DD-WRT on your router. To do this, you will need to go to DD-WRT's router database and search for your router's model number to see if your router is compatible or find a beta build for your router. This guide uses KONG's beta build of DD-WRT v3.0-r42335 on a Netgear R6700.
